Typical and could have been ok if it were 6 episodes...
I tried to watch this (I do not mind subtitles, they were de rigueur in the old art films when I was coming up). Yet, it seemed as if the story lines could not "get off the ground" but was sort of "stuck in neutral.
Watching series 1 on PBS in Canada, with subtitles - yay! I cannot abide watching dubbed foreign shows.
This is a review that covers the first two seasons of the much-lauded Swedish television series, Before We Die (original title: Innan vi dör), an ambitious production that set a high standard with an excellent first season, but failed to meet the high demands of the audiences in the second one. The show casts some very popular Swedish thespians such as Adam Pålsson (Bron/Broen-Season 3, Young Wallander), Magnus Krepper (Inspector Winter, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), and Alexej Manvelov (Chernobyl, Top Dog) while the screenplay is written by Niklas Rockstrom (Wallander, Alex, Caliphate).
Enjoyed watching both series but as with too many police procedural it rues on too many clichés, Mobile phone issues of all sorts, the bad guys never making errors until the end while the police fail to notice any clues again until the last episode or two and of course the disbelief when members of the team see a crucial element, person act dismissed out of ha d as an illusion or hallucination. If only the crooks got caught out once or twice earlier in the series!
I made it halfway but just couldn't do it anymore. I wanted to give up in episode 3 and wish I had.
This is yet another master piece from Sweden. All 1i episodes keepnyou on the edge of your seat, ok so a few plot holes, but overal very nicely acted, shot and directed.
This is one of those occasions. Season 2 is one large plot-hole.
