Recensies

This will likely be as unpopular as my review of NOES 2 but this show was just fun. While corny and much lower budget than the movies it became a cheeky sort of Twilight Zone with more horror tones to it.

This show seems to a be less scary and less funny version of Tales From The Crypt, except The Cryptkeeper is replaced with the less witty Freddy character. How did this show last two seasons?

I don't see how you can say that Freddy's Nightmares is cheesy and a rip-off. You obviously don't know good TV when you see it.

I am a huge fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street movie series Freddy Keuger has given me nightmares from a young age but I honestly never had another Freddy nightmare after I watched Episode 2 (It's a Miserable Life) of Freddys Nightmares when just five minutes into the episode Freddy emerged out of a deep fat fryer with a one liner about fast food and a cheesy laugh it was difficult to ever find Freddy Keuger scary again after seeing that.Freddys Nightmares was made in the late 80s for TV and there isn't a whole lot of Freddy himself in the episodes he's more like the Crypt Keeper from the TV show (Tales from the Crypt) he introduces the episode and ends them but that's pretty much it the show itself is more like Nightmare on Elm Street meets the Twilight Zone each episode focuses on different characters who end up in their own personal nightmares some are a bit disturbing such as one character waking up in the middle of surgery and the surgeon is sawing the top of their head off or walking into a hospital morgue and seeing limbs being chopped up by a mad doctor but for the most part the show is more a campy parody of the Nightmare series there are some good episodes that are genuinely creepy and a few that just leave you scratching your head wondering what you have been watching for the last 40 minutes but if your a Freddy fan or just enjoy campy 80s TV shows then you will enjoy Freddys Nightmares just don't expect it to be full of Robert England as Freddy because you will be disappointed.

I'm not surprised that there was a television series of Freddy Kruegar. After all, out of him, Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, Kruegar was the only one with any personality.

The only 'Freddys Nightmares' episode i've ever enjoyed, was the first one, when they showed Freddy before he died for when the angry Springwood parents tracked him down in the boiler room and killed him, but all of the other episodes, I hated. As a child i've always been a Freddy Kreuger fanatic, for I have always found the Freddy films to be scary, humorous and fun to watch.

I'm a bit conflicted over this. The show is on one hand awful, the acting is terrible (even when we get actual name actors like Brad Pitt and Bill Moseley in one episode), the dialogue is moronic and the premise/moral of each episode feels like something lifted out of a 50s educational short.

This is an under the radar gem, being a fan of the Elm Street franchise, I honestly never knew this show existed. I mainly discovered it at one of the rental video stores I normally went to when I was a kid where in the horror section there were a few volumes of the series.

I still have grainy, late night, no-cable, cheap VHS dubs of this show from waaaaaayyyy back when, late-night-commercials and all, when I would stay up to whatever weird hour they would slap this show on -- just so I could tape it.The series wasn't really ABOUT Freddy Kreuger - only the first couple of episodes actually involved him as anything but a Rod Serling-esquire announcer.
