I heard great reviews about this show so I watched and completed all the 86 episodes within 2 months. I know I am gonna be another nth member who says this show is brilliant cuz it's well worth all the praise.
I have recently watched series 1-5 of the sopranos and will be watching the 6TH shortly I must say they are very good equal to The Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino or A Bronx Tale. I can relate to the characters from what I know very well and it is fairly true to life although stereotypical which sometimes has you screaming at them what to do in the situations we see in front of us because we know the Italian American stereotype as well as ourselves and can see what mistakes etc they are making, not that this is a negative experience but actually quite a positive one .
Was I the only one rooting for them all (with the possible exception of Meadow) to be taken out?Unsympathetic mafia caricatures and not a lot else.
I wacthed the first season with too high expectations, i admit that. However after 13 episodes this show never really catched me as i thought it would be, there are great things about The Sopranos: good actings, interesting story, but i found nothing interesting either in direction or screenplay, it never produced me great emotions.
'The Sopranos' is a behemoth of a TV series. Running for 86 episodes, it may not be quite as long as the likes of 'Mad Men', 'The West Wing' or 'Lost', but there is a heaviness to it.
Perfect show for those who are fascinated by the mob. Incredible story lines from season to season make it easy to "binge watch".
The Sopranos is a show that was, and is the most profound addition to the crime genre since Martin Scorsese's timeless mob classic Goodfellas. No other show in history has captivated my attention in the same way that The Sopranos has.
What else can you say about The Sopranos. I grew up watching this show and still it is my all time favourite.
As my headline says, this is the show you can watch at anytime and once you start watching it you can't stop watching. This is the epitome of acting and the storyline, which never changes even after the 3-4 seasons.
